Importance of making communities resilient to disaster

We are a non-profit organization raising funds to help those in need of disaster relief. We offer several types of assistance, including financial donations and specific needs such as food and water.

Solid at Climate Change Disaster Relief help poor people, dalit and communities to natural disaster. We are committed to providing support in one of the most critical times of need by distributing essential household goods, food aid, medical supplies and emergency shelter among victims of floods, cyclones and earthquakes.

1.Relief was distributed to total 1600 poor, needy and vulnerable families of three blocks of three southern districts of Odisha and also to domestic workers and auto drivers of Berhampur Municipal Corporation to survive and fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
2. During Covid-19, 450 SEWA members from Ganjam and Gajapati districts (domestic workers) received dry ration & sanitization materials as relief from SFDC organisation

1. In order to generate local funds and also to reduce expenditures on food costs, agricultural equipments were purchased and used for cultivation purposes to grow organic vegetables and paddy to be used by the students and staffs residing within the KarunaShanti ashram and school .
2. In the year 2020-2021, more than 2100 familes were provided dry ration along with hygiene kits to fight Covid-19 Pandemic in four districts of Southern Odisha --. Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal and Rayagada.

1. The relief team developed criteria in selecting the needy and poor families before implementing distribution of relief materials to those families.
2. During the Covid-19 condition, as the schools remained closed, repair and maintenance of the classrooms, dormitories, and ashram surroundings was regularly done to enhance and maintain clean and hygienic condition and within the ashram and the school campus.

1. More than 554 SEWA members have got employed in MGNREGS work i.e. making road, plantation work, farm ponds, etc., after shutdown and lockdown due to (Covid-19) was over.
2. 472 school children and 153 preschool children of Phailin cyclone affected Pindiki and Merapalli cluster have been restored back to their usual studies and accepted in Inclusive School Programme.
3. Diseases were identified at early stage and treatment was possible.
