Project Name – Aspire Bijaynanda Coaching Center For Adivasi and Dalit Students in Odisha (ABC) a Unit of SOLID

Specific Objectives – After standard 12 these students are encouraged to aspire to become professionals like higher caste/class students. Every year more than 100 students (new and old) undergo the coaching programme in our institution. We hired the teachers and rent hostel rooms separately for boys and girls for 10 months. The students paid a nominal cost and we subsidised their tuition and living expenditures. For the last one and half years we have faced severe financial problems due to reduction of funding and the loss of income by the parents of these students because of the pandemic. This year the students are interested to undergo the coaching programme but they do not have enough money to fund themselves nor do we have funding for the coaching programme. For this reason we appeal to the kindhearted people to support whatever possible to continue the coaching programme to fulfill the aspirations of first generation learners and Project Campus goers.

Outcome of ABC to date: Over the last 15 years, from 14 batches, SOLID has been able to create 47 MBBS, 35 B.Tech., 22 B. Pharma., 2 D. Pharma., 15 GNM, 70+ B.Sc. Nursing,  9 Health Auxiliary professionals,  2 M.Sc., 2 IBPS , 2 Judicial Clerks, 2 Revenue clerk, 1 Labour Inspector, 200 teachers, 10 Lecturers, 3 Veterinary assistants, 3 Agriculturists, 1 Fishery Scientist and 1 Journalist.
